The Segeberg Scoop - June 2004
Instead of writing my monthly e-mail as just me, I'm now writing our family newsletter once a month. I decided that our "month-iversaries" are probably a good time to do that. Since yesterday was our one month mark, here's our first edition!
First of all, our wedding was absolutely wonderful! For a while before the big day, Ryan and I anticipated that something would go wrong. But, we shouldn't have worried at all! Our wedding day could not have been better! Everything came together without a hitch. (Well--at least Ryan and I didn't know if there was one.) Our sealing was beautiful and, I think, perfectly tailored to us. We often talk about what a wonderful day it was.
Our honeymoon was also fabulous! We spent the first few days at our family cabin near Heber, UT. It was so nice to just relax and not have to worry about anything. The next few days we spent in Victoria, British Columbia. Although it rained almost the entire time we were there, we got to see all of the sites on our list. We had a great time adventuring together in a city neither of us had ever been to. We spent the last few days in Auburn, Washington with the Segeberg side of the family. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better ending to such a great week! I really enjoy spending time with the Segebergs and wish we could do it more often. In fact, both Ryan and I wished we had been able to stay in Washington a little longer!
Since then, we have been working on putting our home together. This past weekend, we finally finished painting the hall. Not too exciting for anyone but us, I'm sure! We're just happy to have it done and out of the way. Until he started school yesterday, Ryan was working part-time at work and part-time on the condo. It was great to come home each evening and see the progress that he had made on our home. I am definitely grateful that he's so willing to work and get things done around the house.
We're starting to settle in to our new ward. It's definitely different being in a married ward, rather than a single's ward! Ryan and I were discussing how it seems more difficult to get into the swing of things because there aren't as many activities in a married ward. It's going to take a little time, but I'm sure we'll feel more comfortable soon.
Have a wonderful month! I look forward to hearing from you!
